Vahid Aref

Vahid Aref is a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff (DMTS) at Nokia, where they currently serve as a Senior DSP and ASIC Architect. With over 15 years of experience in digital signal processing and coherent optical fiber communications, Vahid has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles and has supervised 15+ industrial PhD students. They have also held academic positions, including Guest Lecturer at the University of Stuttgart, where they teach courses in Information Theory and Coding. Vahid earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, a Master of Science in Telecommunications Engineering, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Telecommunications Engineering from EPFL.
