Steven Layne is a software engineer with experience in both industry and research. Steven began their career in 2015 as a Software Developer at Northwestern Research Computing, where they lead a reporting project for monitoring researcher computation for over 900 researchers on Northwestern's Computation Cluster. In 2017, they joined AT&T as a Software Engineer, where they built dashboards and visualizations for performance indicators on AT&T's network, as well as a dashboard used for filtering high volume data feeds transmitting through data routers in the AT&T network. In 2018, they took on a role as NLP Research at Adobe, where they worked on extractive text summarization and highlighting and built an open sourced tool for streamlining the generation and evaluation of text. Later that same year, they became Co-Founder of Thread, a social content app for group conversations and high-quality content discovery. In 2020, they became Cofounder and CTO of Norby.
Steven Layne attended Northwestern University from 2014 to 2017, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science.
