Maarja Bussov

Maarja Bussov is a Senior Data Scientist at Nordea, focusing on extracting actionable insights from data. With a PhD in Physics and an MSc in Mathematical Statistics from the University of Tartu, they have extensive experience in developing statistical methods and machine learning algorithms applied to astrophysical data. Their work includes analyzing the spatial distributions of galaxies and addressing data-driven questions related to space plasma simulations during their postdoctoral research at the University of Helsinki. Previously, they served as a fraud analyst at TransferWise and held roles in research and teaching at Tartu Observatory and the University of Tartu.
