Mark Kandborg

Chief Risk Officer at Nordea

Mark Kandborg has over twenty years of experience in the financial industry. Mark began their career as a dealer with Unibank in 1995 and held various positions within the company until 1999 when they left to join Nordea as a senior trader. Mark worked with Nordea for six years before taking on the role of chief trader. In March 2006, Mark became the Chief Risk Officer at Nordea.

Mark has a vast amount of experience in risk management and has played an integral role in the development of Nordea’s risk management strategy. Mark is a well-respected leader within the organization and is known for their ability to identify and mitigate risk.

Under Mark’s leadership, Nordea has become one of the most trusted and reliable banks in Europe. Mark has helped to build a strong foundation for the bank that will continue to serve its customers well into the future.

Mark Kandborg has a Master's in Economics from Københavns Universitet, as well as a Merit from ACI Diploma. Mark also has a VUT-1 in Captain from the Military Academy and is currently a Captain in Mechanized Infantry for forsvaret. Finally, they attended Ingrid Jespersen Gymnasium.

Mark Kandborg reports to Frank Vang-Jensen, President & CEO. They are on a team with Ian Smith - Group Chief Financial Officer, Christina Gadeberg - Chief People Officer and Head of Group People, and Martin A Persson - Head of Large Corporates & Institutions and Branch Manager Sweden.
