Allison Hamilton

Curriculum Specialist at NoRedInk

Allison Hamilton is currently a Curriculum Specialist at NoRedInk. Allison previously worked as an AP Research and AP Literature Teacher at Achievement First from July 2019 to August 2021. While at Achievement First, they were selected to be the network’s AP Research Curriculum Fellow to write and revise AP Research curriculum for four high schools in the network. Allison also collaborated on course redesign to incorporate culturally relevant pedagogy in AP Literature. In addition, they implemented IEPs, responded to data for students with disabilities, created appropriate supports, and communicated with parents.

Allison has also taught high school English at Strive Preparatory - Excel from July 2016 to July 2019. During their time at Strive Preparatory, they planned and facilitated live and virtual “Expert Advisers” trainings for 30+ teachers to mentor research students, resulting in more students consistently scoring above a 3 in AP Research. Allison also led professional development for a staff of 60 on EdTech tools and family engagement. In their final year at Strive Preparatory, Allison planned and facilitated the first BHS virtual back-to-school night for approx. 100 12th grade families to seek input on remote learning.

Allison has also been selected from a pool of applicants around the nation by the College Board to evaluate and assign official scores for AP Research papers.

Allison Hamilton has a Master's in Secondary English Education from Regis University, a Bachelor's in English and Religious Studies from Rockhurst University, and a minor in Art Theirtory from Rockhurst University. Allison is certified by The College Board in College Board AP Reader for the AP Research Exam and Advanced Placement Summer Institute - AP Research. Allison is also certified by STRIVE Preparatory Schools in Charter ELA Training Channel (for English Language Development), The Colorado Education Initiative in Advanced Placement Literature Mock Reading and Advanced Placement Literature Summer Institute, and the NYS Department of Education in English Language Arts 7-12, Initial Certificate. Finally, they are certified by the College of Teachers, U.K., accredited and externally monitored by IATQuO in TEFL Certificate.

They are on a team with Katina Vradelis - Curriculum Specialist, Sam Cooper - Curriculum Specialist, and Lauren Mcgarry - Curriculum Specialist. Their manager is Natalie Chapman, Manager, Curriculum Team.
