William LaRochelle has extensive experience in the healthcare and biotechnology industry. William currently holds the position of Chief Scientific Officer at Normunity since March 2022. Prior to this role, they were a member of the Connecticut Bioscience Innovation Fund Advisory Committee, where they provided guidance on the strategy of the $200 million fund.
From 2015 to 2022, LaRochelle served as the Clinical Development Director of Medical & Scientific Affairs at Roche Diagnostics, Sequencing Solutions. In this role, they contributed to the development and advancement of clinical biomarkers and pharmacogenomics.
Before joining Roche Diagnostics, LaRochelle was the Head of Key Opinion Leader Relationships at Roche Sequencing Solutions from 2012 to 2017. William managed strategic thought leader activities worldwide and had extensive experience in the healthcare diagnostic industry, particularly in cancer/virology.
Prior to their roles at Roche, LaRochelle held the position of Head of Healthcare Business Development at Roche 454 Life Sciences from 2008 to 2012. William was responsible for initiating and managing translational research activities in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry and federal government, with a focus on personalized healthcare.
From 2000 to 2007, LaRochelle worked at CuraGen Corporation as the Director/Head of Preclinical Development Oncology. William played a key role in building successful drug discovery and development programs and was skilled in identifying new products and implementing research and development strategies.
LaRochelle's career began at the National Cancer Institute in 1987, where they worked as a Principal Investigator. William conducted research in molecular and cellular biology, focusing on cDNA cloning, protein expression, transgenic animal models of disease, cancer, and inflammation.
Throughout their career, LaRochelle has demonstrated expertise in scientific research, clinical development, strategic planning, and relationship management in the healthcare and biotechnology fields.
William LaRochelle attended Manhattan College from 1978 to 1982, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. Following their undergraduate studies, they furthered their education at Dartmouth College from 1982 to 1987, obtaining a Ph.D. in Biochemistry.
