The North Sea Energy (NSE) program aims to develop new concepts for offshore system integration on the North Sea. 

As a pre-competitive Shared Innovation Program, NSE identifies and assesses opportunities for synergies between multiple low-carbon energy developments offshore: offshore wind, solar & marine energy, hydrogen developments, carbon capture transport & storage, and the phasing out of natural gas. offshore wind, solar & marine energy, carbon capture & storage, natural gas and hydrogen developments while strengthening the carrying capacity of our economy, society and nature and identify human capital aspects.

In 2023-2025 NSE investigates development strategies towards 2050 for three conceptual offshore energy areas in the North Sea, that are central elements in the program. 

With almost 40 public and private organisations and international partners from the energy value chain, NSE differentiates itself through the participatory process, knowledge sharing and knowledge brokerage. 

The North Sea Energy program, founded in 2017, is an innovation project within the TKI New Gas program line Geo-Energy.
