Euan Smith

Euan Smith is an experienced professional in the railway industry, currently serving as the Director of Fleet at Northern since February 2025. Prior to this role, Euan held various positions at Angel Trains Limited from April 2005 to February 2025, including Head of Product Management, Head of Fleet, Head of Project Delivery, Senior Project Manager, and Project Manager. Earlier in the career at Angel Trains Ltd from September 2002 to April 2005, Euan worked as a Fleet Engineer. Euan's professional journey began at SCOTRAIL RAILWAYS LIMITED, where roles included Shift Manager, Vehicle Engineer, and Senior Technical Officer from January 1996 to September 2002, as well as an Engineering Management Trainee at British Rail from September 1991 to January 1996. Euan holds an MSc in Railway Systems Engineering from The University of Sheffield, a BEng in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Imperial College London, and completed the Accelerated Development Programme in Business Administration and Management at London Business School in 2018.
