Our mission is to provide our traditional standards of real estate development services and construction expertise ensuring our clients’ complete satisfaction.

Northern Builders, Inc. was founded in 1927 by Paul Grusecki, who combined the classic American traits of hard work and enterprise to build a construction business. His intolerance for the term “good enough” has resulted in a tradition of excellence and the absolute highest standards for quality.

Under the guidance of Paul and his wife, Mary Grusecki, their sons James and Thomas have grown Northern Builders into one of the largest and most successful full-service development and construction companies in the Midwest. With clients ranging from emerging businesses to Fortune 50 corporations, Northern has participated in the design, development, and construction of over 65 million square feet of office, industrial, retail space, and restaurant.

As a privately-held company, Northern distinguishes itself from the competition by utilizing its in-house development expertise and construction experience to initiate creative and aggressive deal structures. Further, Northern’s full-service structure allows it to efficiently manage every aspect of a project and provide a single source of responsibility to our clients.

Northern’s design-build approach encourages our clients to take an active role in the design process. Through these efforts, we can design for the operational functionality required for our client’s business, and our value-engineering procedures provide numerous alternatives for the most cost-effective design. Our philosophy is simple: collaborating with our clients as a team will always yield the greatest results.

Today, Northern continues to operate with the same hands-on approach, entrepreneurial spirit, and personal commitment to excellence that was present in 1927. Through our direct focus on client needs, we maintain the attitude that we are only as good as our last reference.
