Northern Lights
Tim Avery is an experienced media professional with a diverse background in editing, video production, and graphic design. Currently serving as an Editor at Northern Lights since September 2013, Tim has held multiple roles within the company, including Full-Time Assistant Editor and Freelance Assistant Editor. Previous engagements include working as a DIT for MTV Scratch, contributing to the HBO pilot "The Money" as an After Effects/Motion artist, and directing video production for Tennessee Smokies Baseball. Tim's early career features editing roles for projects like "Maybe a Memory" and "The Girl Like No Other," along with experience as a Lead Production Intern at Quad Cities River Bandits. Tim's educational background includes a BA in Communications and Cinema Studies from Northeastern University.

Northern Lights is a bicoastal (NY/LA/SF) editorial and finishing studio with a passion for storytelling and a track record of delivering audiences across all media platforms. From award-winning campaigns to commercials, co-branded content, events, and experiences, Northern Lights has been a destination for original ideas since 1995. Northern Lights is a proud member of FREE THE WORK, a nonprofit initiative dedicated to identifying systemic inequalities in film, television, advertising, and media, and finding actionable solutions to expand access for underrepresented creators. We are also active members of AICP’s Equity & Inclusion Committee. Together, with our in-house partners Mr Wonderful for branding and design, SuperExploder for composing, sound design and audio post, and BODEGA for production, we offer award-winning creative under one roof.
