William Maitland is currently the Claims Director at NorthStandard, overseeing P&I and defence claims in the Middle East, India, and Africa, based in London, and previously the Asia-Pacific sector in Melbourne. With extensive experience in the maritime insurance industry, William has handled claims and been involved in data analysis and systems development across various roles, including senior positions at The Standard P&I Club and AET. A qualified solicitor from South Australia, William holds multiple degrees from the University of Adelaide and has also studied French language and culture in Bordeaux, along with French studies in Avignon. Fluent in English and French, William has contributed to legal publications as Editor in Chief of The Hilarian at Adelaide Law School.
