Shane Mears

Shane Mears has a long and varied work experience. Shane began their career in 1997 as a Systems Administrator for Bellsouth Mobility. In 2000, they took a position as an IT Security Liaison for the South Florida Water Management District. In 2006, Shane became a Systems Engineer for Symantec Corporation and later a Principle Security Consultant. In 2008, they accepted a position as a Security Engineer for Ultimate Software. In 2009, Shane became a Principle Security Architect for Conventus Corporation. In 2015, they took a position as a Senior Security Consultant specializing in the Symantec Security Portfolio with a focus on Operating System Hardening for Point of Sales and ATM's as well as Server Operating systems. Shane has since returned to Conventus Corporation, where they are currently a Lead Security Architect and Senior Security Consultant - Data Center Security.

Shane Mears obtained an Associate's Degree in Information Technology from Lincoln Tech between 1995 and 1998. In June 2015, they also obtained a Symantec Data Center Security Server 6.x Technical Specialist certification from Symantec.
