Dickson Ojwang

Lead Cathode Engineer

Dickson Ojwang, PhD, currently serves as the Lead Cathode Engineer at Northvolt, focusing on quality control and validation for battery material development. Previously, as an R&D Researcher at Exeger, Dickson optimized manufacturing systems for solar cells and oversaw equipment management. A postdoctoral researcher at Uppsala University, Dickson developed storage strategies for humidity-sensitive battery materials and improved sodium-ion battery cycling stability. Additional postdoctoral experience was gained at the University of Delaware, where Dickson produced novel pnictide compounds for thermoelectrics. During a PhD program at Stockholm University, Dickson acted as a Laboratory Manager and Teaching Assistant, enhancing lab safety and efficiency while providing exceptional instruction to students. Prior research at the University of Bayreuth involved synthesizing and analyzing metallic oxides and ceramic samples. Dickson earned a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from Stockholm University, an MS in Experimental Geoscience from the University of Bayreuth, and a BS in Chemistry from Moi University.
