Sami Freiwat is a software engineering professional with extensive experience in embedded systems, particularly in battery management systems (BMS) for industrial applications. Currently serving as Manager of Software Engineering at Northvolt since November 2017, Sami has previously held positions as a Senior Software Engineer and Battery Management Engineer at Knightec AB. At Scania Group, Sami worked as a Function Owner and Object Leader for the Idle Stop and Start function. Sami's academic background includes a Master's thesis focused on developing a fuel-efficient longitudinal controller for heavy-duty trucks at Uppsala University, where also contributed as an Assistant Professor in areas related to Cherenkov radiation and the Inverse Faraday Effect.
