Sami Haikala

Sami Haikala is an experienced professional in battery technology and development, currently serving as the Chief Development Officer at Northvolt since November 2020, overseeing the company’s R&D efforts. Previously held roles include Vice President of Manufacturing & Validation and Senior Director of Cell Design & Validation at Northvolt, as well as Senior Manager positions at BAT and Foxconn, focusing on battery technology and engineering. Notable earlier positions include Senior Battery Technologist at Microsoft, where leadership was provided for HoloLens battery technology, and extensive experience at Nokia, culminating in roles such as Stream Manager for Battery & Energy Management. Sami Haikala holds a Master of Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering from Turku University of Applied Sciences.
