Casey Helmick is an experienced educator with a diverse background in teaching and educational leadership. Currently serving as the Director of Planning and STEM Academy Director at Northwest Independent School District (NISD) since August 2007, Casey has also held roles as a STEM Coordinator and Biology Teacher, focusing on Project-Based Learning (PBL) methodologies. Prior experience includes the role of Science Content Lead for the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA) from 2012 to 2016, where Casey contributed to the development of digital educational content. Casey's teaching career began at Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Independent School District and continued in Lewisville ISD, teaching middle school science. Casey holds multiple degrees from Baylor University and the University of North Texas, including a Bachelor of Education in Biology Teacher Education and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. Additionally, Casey has obtained a Principal Certificate in Educational Leadership.
