Matthew Mottram

Software Engineer at Nossa Data

Matthew Mottram has over 10 years of professional experience in software engineering, data science and research. Matthew started their career in 2011 as an Advisor in the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology, where they wrote a POSTnote document on Cyber Security in the UK. In the same year, they became a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Sussex, where they developed control software packages and data pipelines. In 2014, they joined Queen Mary University of London as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant, where they convened multiple working groups, led software development and implementation of classification, reconstruction and optimisation algorithms. Matthew was also responsible for reviewing colleagues' code. In 2016, they joined Verv by Green Running as a Data Scientist and Data Science Team Lead. In 2018, they moved to Citymapper as a Software Engineer. In 2021, they joined HealthLumen as a Technical Team Lead. Currently, they are working as a Software Engineer at Nossa Data.

Matthew Mottram received their PhD in Physics from UCL in 2011. Prior to that, they completed an MPhys in Physics with Astrophysics from the University of Leeds in 2007. In 2005 and 2006, they attended Queen's University for Physics.
