Not Beyond Redemption is a charity that provides free Family Law advice and representation to mothers in prison. Our team of specialist family lawyers work with volunteers who are committed to assisting in re-establishing critical access and relationships between mothers and their children.

What We Do:
Through pro bono legal clinics in all twelve women's prisons across England, we offer extensive legal advice on children's matters.

Why We Do It:
Women are rarely eligible for Legal Aid in private children’s law proceedings, and mothers in prison face many hurdles to represent themselves in the family court. Not Beyond Redemption fills the gap and ensures that this vulnerable cohort have access to justice. Maintaining contact between imprisoned mothers and their children can be crucial for the wellbeing of both mother and child.

How We Do It:
Our scope of work is varied and ranges from helping women understand their rights to writing legal letters and representing them in courts across the country – all on a pro bono basis. We continue our assistance after the mothers have been released from prison. We walk side by side with our clients, assisting them in accessing additional support to help them turn their lives around.
