Amr Maher

Engineering Competency Lead – EHO at NOV

Amr Maher has extensive work experience in the oil and gas industry. Amr started their career in 1986 as a Sales Engineer at Petroconsult Engineering. In 1989, they joined Baker Hughes as a Senior Petroleum Geologist. From 1993 to 1998, they worked as a Regional Engineer at REED TOOL COMPANY, managing projects in Egypt, Italy, and Algeria. Amr then joined ReedHycalog - Schlumberger as a Senior Sales Engineer from 1998 to 2001. Amr subsequently joined Drilling & Measurements - Schlumberger, where they held the positions of Performance Drilling Manager and Drill Bits Manager, focusing on improving product margins and market share. In 2003, Amr transitioned to ReedHycalog - Grant Prideco, where they worked as an Evaluation Engineering Manager in the Middle East until 2009. Amr then joined National Oilwell Varco, where they held various roles, including Evaluation Engineering Manager, Drilling Solutions Manager for North Africa, Personnel Development Manager, and Engineering Competency Lead. Throughout their career, they have been heavily involved in technical support, customer education, introducing new product lines, and improving overall performance.

Amr Maher completed their high school education at Maadi Military Secondary School, where they earned a High School Certificate with a focus on General Science. Following that, from 1979 to 1984, they attended Cairo University's Faculty of Science in Egypt, where they earned a B.Sc degree in Geology/Engineering Geology.
