Vidar Hellum is a skilled Structural Engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry and academia. Hellum began a career at Aker Solutions as a Strukturingeniør from June 2009 to June 2011, contributing to the Oseberg B drilling upgrade project for Statoil. Following this, Hellum held a series of roles at Nymo, including Structural Discipline Lead for several drilling module projects, and served in various capacities, such as Project Engineer and Assistant Engineering Manager, on other semi-submersible rig designs. In academia, Hellum worked as a PhD research fellow and Assistant Professor at the University of Agder, teaching courses in Mechanics, Statics, and Strength of Materials. Currently, Hellum serves as a Structural Engineer at National Oilwell Varco since March 2020, bringing a solid educational foundation with a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Structural Engineering from the University of Agder.
