Andy Cates

Andy Cates is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in commercial law, currently serving as Senior Commercial Counsel at Nova Credit since September 2025. Prior roles include Senior Counsel and Counsel for Sales & Growth at Tubi, where responsibilities included negotiating complex agreements, and Senior Corporate Counsel at Trovata, focusing on SaaS and data processing agreements. Cates also held the position of Corporate Counsel at TrellisWare Technologies, drafting subcontracts for government contractors, and began a legal career at Cooley LLP, advising startups on corporate governance and representation in securities offerings. Cates holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Point Loma Nazarene University and a Juris Doctor with a concentration in Corporate Law from the University of San Diego School of Law.
