Arya Bhalla

Arya Bhalla is currently an undergraduate researcher at UCLA, contributing to the Zamudio Lab on CRISPR-Cas-mediated RNA binding protein competition related to cancer, and the Fried Lab focusing on neural mechanisms of memory and cognition in epilepsy patients. Additionally, Arya holds product roles at Empower Health, aimed at reducing bias in healthcare for women and minorities, and at Nova, Tech for Good, focusing on personal safety technology and campaign platform redesigns. Arya also serves as the Hacker Experience and Operations Director at LA Hacks, previously holding positions as Operations Coordinator and Sponsorships Coordinator. Between January 2020 and June 2023, Arya built a following as a comedian on Instagram, achieving significant reach. Arya has prior experience in medical shadowing and volunteer work with the American Academy of Pediatrics, assisting low-income families. Arya is pursuing a degree at UCLA, having completed high school at Northwood High School.
