Thomas Flower, PhD, is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in structural biology and protein science. Currently serving as Head of Protein Science at Novalix since July 2023, Thomas leads a multidisciplinary team to deliver innovative protein tools and data packages for the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors. Prior roles include Senior Project Manager in Structural Biology at Novalix, where responsibilities included managing complex projects related to protein characterization and cross-functional collaboration. At Galapagos, Thomas contributed significantly as a Senior Scientist, delivering critical protein-ligand structures to support drug discovery. As a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California, Berkeley, noteworthy achievements included pioneering the use of AI in molecular replacement and solving significant viral structures. Thomas also completed a PhD in Structural Biology at UCL and has a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from Cardiff University, complemented by a strong foundation in research and scientific communication across various prestigious institutions.
