Matt Carey

Matt Carey, P.E. has extensive work experience in facilities engineering, environmental health and safety (EHS), and project management. Matt currently holds the position of Director of Facilities Engineering and EHS at Novan, Inc. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Facilities Engineering and EHS at Liquidia Technologies for five years. Matt also worked at Red Hat as a Manager of Facilities/Engineering, where they directed preventive and predictive maintenance programs and managed maintenance activities at a large facility. Matt has previously held roles at Eisai, where they managed the design and construction of a utilities building and served as the Senior Manager of Facilities Engineering, implementing continuous improvement processes to enhance efficiency. Additionally, Matt worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb as a Manager of EHS and Senior Project Engineering Manager, overseeing EHS compliance activities and managing various plant projects.

Matt Carey, P.E. holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University. Matt is also currently pursuing a Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt certification from the same institution. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt, Manager of Environment, Safety and Health (MESH), Professional Energy Management (PEM), and is a certified Professional Engineer (PE).
