Shashank Jain

Shashank Jain, Ph.D, MBA has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Shashank is currently the Director of Drug Product Development at Novan, Inc., where they are responsible for supervising all aspects of the Product Development department. This includes formulation and process development, CMO management, budgeting, resource allocation, team management, and regulatory and commercial support.

Prior to their current role, Shashank worked at Cosette Pharmaceuticals, Inc. as a Manager of Formulation Development. Shashank was involved in various drug development projects, including ANDA, NDA, 505b2, Paragraph IV, and PAS submissions. Shashank also served as a Senior Formulation Scientist and Research Scientist at the company, where they performed and supervised formulation and process development activities and implemented quality by design principles.

Before joining Cosette Pharmaceuticals, Shashank worked as a Formulation Scientist at Akorn, Inc., where they led formulation and process development activities for small molecule-based drug formulations. Shashank also collaborated with manufacturing teams to scale up manufacturing processes and ensure efficient and robust production.

Shashank's early career included roles as a Doctoral Research Fellow and a Master of Science at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, St. John's University.
