Mark Vignovic is the VP of EHS at Novaphos. Mark has over 19 years of experience in environmental health and safety. Mark started their career in 1985 as a compliance Engineer with Weirton Steel Corporation. Mark was promoted to Senior Environmental Engineer, Manager – Operations & Maintenance, and Director - Environmental Control. In 2004, Mark left Weirton Steel Corporation to join Novaphos. As the Director of Environmental Control, Mark was responsible for developing and directing systems to ensure compliance with State & Federal air, solid waste, and wastewater regulations for an integrated steel mill. Mark also directed industrial hygiene, hazard communication, asbestos, radiation, PCBs, noise, product certifications and exposure assessment activities. In addition, Mark managed 6 wastewater treatment plants, tin recovery plant, hydrochloric acid regeneration plant, asbestos control team and an on-site, third-party waste oil recovery facility. The annual O&M budget was $18 million. Mark also managed RCRA Corrective Action investigation and remediation activities conducted at this 2,000 acre site used for more than 100 years for iron & steel production. Mark assisted operating, purchasing, legal, finance and engineering departments in resolving environmental issues and problems, and implementation of several major pollution control capital projects totaling more than $100 million.
Mark Vignovic has a B.S. in environmental engineering from The Pennsylvania State University.
