Wayne Woo

Wayne Woo has extensive work experience in the field of biostatistics, spanning over several companies and roles. Wayne currently holds the position of Director of Biostatistics at Novavax Inc, where they have been working since 2022. Prior to that, they held positions of Associate Director and Senior Manager of Biostatistics at Novavax Inc.

Before joining Novavax Inc, Wayne worked at GSK for a total of 19 years, during which they held various roles. These roles included Expert Biostatistician, Biostatistician, and Head of Statistical Reporting Strategy. Wayne was responsible for providing statistical support in the design and execution of clinical studies and regulatory submissions, collaborating with various departments and stakeholders.

Wayne also worked at Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics, Inc. where they held the position of Head of Statistical Reporting Strategy. Wayne led efforts on functional outsourcing, data disclosure, patient-level data sharing, and SOP development. Before their time at Novartis, Wayne worked at Chiron Corporation as a Senior Project Manager and Senior Clinical Systems Administrator, where they were responsible for the maintenance and improvement of the SAS computing environment.

Earlier in their career, Wayne worked at Berlex Laboratories as a Systems Analyst, focusing on SAS programming and development in a clinical trials setting. Wayne also worked at DMDC as a Management Analyst, where they conducted data analysis and report generation using SAS for the Department of Defense.

Wayne Woo has a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley, earned between 1988 and 1992. Wayne then pursued a Masters of Liberal Arts in General Management Studies from Harvard University Extension School between 2007 and 2012. More recently, Wayne completed their Master of Science in Biostatistics from The George Washington University between 2016 and 2020.
