Ioannis Efstathiou

Ioannis Efstathiou is a seasoned researcher and data scientist with extensive experience in machine learning and artificial intelligence. Currently serving as a Senior Researcher Team Lead at Novelcore since December 2023, Ioannis previously held significant roles at Engine B, including Chief Data Scientist and Data Scientist, where expertise in Named Entity Recognition and Anomaly Detection was demonstrated. Prior experience includes a Senior Data Scientist position at Chatterbox Labs and a Research Associate role at Heriot-Watt University, focusing on reinforcement learning for strategic conversation. Ioannis earned a Ph.D. from Heriot-Watt University, specializing in reinforcement learning and pragmatics, alongside an MSc in Artificial Intelligence. Early career experience involved programming and automation at PANOU S.A., as well as academic foundations in software engineering from the University of Hertfordshire.
