Perry Hackett has had a long and successful career in the scientific field. Perry began their career in 1977 as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of California, San Francisco. In 1980, they moved to the University of Minnesota, where they served as a Professor. In 2000, they founded Discovery Genomics, where they served as the Chair of the Board of Directors, President, and Chief Scientific Officer. In 2011, they founded Recombinetics, Inc., where they served as the Founder, Chief Scientific Officer, Board of Directors, and Head of the Scientific Advisory Board. Finally, in 2018, they co-founded NovoClade and serves on the Board of Directors.
Perry Hackett attended Stanford University from 1965-1974, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Physics. Perry then attended the University of Colorado, where they earned a Master's degree in Biophysics. Finally, they attended the University of California San Francisco, where they earned a PhD in Genetics.
