Asha Palat is a Sequencing Specialist for Whole Genome Sequencing and Whole Exome Sequencing at Novogene America, a position held since September 2022. Previously, Asha served as a Technical Support Scientist and a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Houston from August 2015 to August 2022, where responsibilities included project management, client interfacing for custom experiments, and mentoring graduate students. Asha also worked as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant, completing a dissertation focused on the role of microRNA-509-3p in ovarian tumor chemotherapy sensitivity, while developing and leading pipelines for live-cell imaging and analysis. Asha holds a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Houston, earned in May 2021.
