Laurel Archer

Laurel Archer has extensive work experience in various roles related to language education and communication. In 2010, they began working as an English, ESL, Test Prep, and French Tutor for Cary Tutor, offering private and small group classes. From 2012 to 2015, Laurel taught Accent Reduction and Advanced Accent Reduction classes at Wake Technical Community College, Reedy Creek Middle School, and Millbrook High School. In 2013, they became an Organizer for the Triangle English Conversation Club on Meetup, organizing events and activities to help non-native speakers improve their English conversation skills. In 2015, they started teaching evening classes for Advanced ESL speakers on Pronunciation and Speaking English with Confidence at Wake County Public School System's Lifelong Learning program. From 2015 to 2018, Laurel also served as an English Tutor at Lifetime Learning Academy, providing individual and structured tutoring for students of all ages. In 2017, they briefly worked as a Financial Mentor for Life Leadership Company, helping individuals achieve their financial goals. Additionally, Laurel founded and directed Laurel's Learning Lab in 2018, offering courses and consultations on American English Pronunciation and communication skills. Laurel Archer obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature and French from Wheaton College, where they studied from 1984 to 1988. Following this, they pursued a Master of Education degree with an emphasis on Reading at the University of Illinois Chicago, graduating between 1990 and 1992.
