Robert Kollaard

Robert Kollaard is a consultant in radiation protection at NRG, where Robert has been part of the Consultancy & Services division since 2013. Previously, Kollaard supported the Autoriteit Nucleaire Veiligheid en Stralingsbescherming (ANVS) from 2017 to 2021 as a vergunningverlener, focusing on non-nuclear licensing. Kollaard has extensive experience as a medical physicist, including roles at MAASTRO Clinic, where contributions included the implementation of Varian equipment and advancements in prostate treatments. Notable clinical projects also include introducing intensity modulated radiotherapy for prostate and head and neck cancer patients during tenures at Medisch Spectrum Twente and Maastro Clinic. Kollaard began the career as a physics trainee at Catharina Hospital Eindhoven and completed a traineeship in detector system development at Neural Engineering Clinic in the USA. Academic qualifications include an MSc in Applied Physics from the University of Twente and an MTD in Design and Technology of Instrumentation from Eindhoven University of Technology.
