Bassem Morcos

Bassem Morcos, MD, is a seasoned leader in the field of clinical science and drug development, currently serving as the Vice President and Head of Clinical Science in R&D at NS Pharma, Inc., since September 2025. Prior to this role, Bassem held the position of Medical Director in Clinical Development at PepGen, focusing on neuromuscular diseases from August 2023 to September 2025. Bassem's extensive experience includes serving as Associate Medical Director at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, where responsibilities encompassed translational medicine and clinical development for Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency and cystic fibrosis. Previous roles at Merck spanned from March 2011 to June 2019, where Bassem contributed as Medical Director and Global Clinical Lead, among other positions, notably in rare diseases and cardio-vascular clinical development.
