Anke Ramakers

Anke Ramakers is a Senior Researcher at the Netherlands Institute for the Study of Crime and Law Enforcement, where they lead the research group focused on reactions to crime and their effects. Currently, Anke is involved in the SANCTION study, which explores decision-making processes and the consequences of community sanctions. With a background in sociology, Anke earned a Bachelor's degree and a Research Master's degree from Radboud University before obtaining a PhD in Criminology from Leiden University. Their research interests encompass the re-integration of justice-involved individuals, the relationship between employment and recidivism, and the complexities surrounding interventions beyond the criminal justice system. Anke utilizes quantitative methods and longitudinal datasets to examine these multifaceted issues.
