Joan Young

Assistive Technology Facilitator at NSSEO

Joan Young has over 40 years of experience in the field of education and assistive technology, currently serving as an Assistive Technology Facilitator at NSSEO since October 2012, where Joan provides consultation and assessments utilizing the SETT Model to support the use of assistive technology. Prior to this role, Joan spent 35 years at Township High School District 211, primarily as a Speech/Language Pathologist at Schaumburg High School, where responsibilities included conducting diagnostic evaluations, developing individualized programs, providing therapy services, and offering technical support for district-level speech/language pathology initiatives. Joan holds multiple master's degrees from esteemed institutions, including a MA in Speech Pathology from the University of Iowa, a MA in Educational Administration from Northern Illinois University, and a MA in Reading with a Supervisory Endorsement from Roosevelt University.
