About De Madelief
De Madelief is a Dutch Language and Culture School (NTC) in Dublin, dedicated to providing high-quality Dutch language and cultural education to children of Dutch and Flemish parents living in Dublin and the surrounding area. We offer structured primary and secondary NTC classes on Saturdays, using recognised Dutch and Belgian teaching methods, so students aged 4–20 can maintain and develop their Dutch skills alongside their Irish school education.
Our mission is to deliver high-quality NTC education tailored to each student’s abilities, and to foster an inclusive learning environment where Dutch and Flemish language and culture are celebrated. We actively involve parents and families, ensuring that our cultural education enriches not just the children, but the entire household.
Exams and Certifications
De Madelief is an official exam centre for the Certificaat Nederlands als Vreemde Taal (CNaVT). Each year, students aged around 16 and older have the opportunity to take the B2 Educatief Startbekwaam CNaVT exam with us in the spring.
We also support students preparing for the Leaving Certificate in Dutch, helping them maintain and deepen their Dutch language skills while officially recognising their proficiency. This provides significant value for higher education and future opportunities in the Netherlands and Belgium.

•	Deliver education in line with the guidelines of the Foundation for Dutch Education Abroad (NOB).
•	Maintain and improve the quality of our teaching.
•	Build on each student’s individual abilities and knowledge.
•	Engage parents and families to make Dutch and Flemish culture accessible to the whole household.
