Ajay Narayanan has extensive work experience in various leadership and advisory roles. Ajay began their career as a Fellow at Lead - Inspiring leaders for a sustainable world in 1996. In 1998, they joined IDFC as the Head of Environment and Decentralized Infrastructure, where they spearheaded the financing of distributed infrastructure and green technologies. Ajay also played a crucial role in setting up the Environment risk department and overseeing E&S due diligence for IDFC investments.

In 2005, Ajay joined the International Finance Corporation as the Head of Financial Markets Sustainability, where they led the team responsible for the Sustainability and Climate Business investment program.
