Shen Yin is the DNV Endowed Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, where they also lead the Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety Group. Currently serving as an AdCom member for the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, they previously chaired the Technical Committee on "Data Driven Control and Monitoring." Shen held the position of Full Professor at Harbin Institute of Technology from 2014 to 2020 and was a Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter at the University of Duisburg-Essen from 2007 to 2012. They earned their Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Duisburg-Essen, following a Master's degree in Control & Information System from the same institution.
