Yael M.

Yael M. has extensive work experience in the field of biology and translational sciences. Currently, they serve as the Senior Director of Cell Biology & Translational Sciences at NuChem Sciences since April 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Repare Therapeutics as the Senior Director of Biology from June 2021 to March 2022, and as the Director of Biology from May 2017 to May 2021. Before joining Repare Therapeutics, Yael held positions at Vertex Pharmaceuticals as the Associate Director of Biology from February 2016 to March 2017, and as the Senior Research Scientist of Biology from September 2011 to January 2016. Yael also worked as a Senior Research Biologist at Merck Frosst Canada Ltd from 2006 to August 2010. Earlier in their career, Yael held academic roles at McGill University, including a postdoctoral fellowship in Dr. Nahum Sonenberg's lab from September 2003 to August 2006, and various teaching positions from 1999 to 2002.

Yael M. has a diverse education history that spans across multiple fields. In 1994, Yael obtained a BSc Honors degree in Microbiology and Immunology from McGill University. Following that, Yael pursued higher education at the same university and completed a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from 1997 to 2003.

Before attending university, Yael enrolled in Cegep Bois de Boulogne from 1992 to 1994, where they obtained a College Diploma (D.E.C) in Health Sciences. Additionally, Yael graduated from Pierre Laporte high school with a high school diploma, majoring in Biology/Biological Sciences.

To further enhance their skillset, Yael obtained various certifications. These include a Certification in Leadership and Management from the Institut de leadership en gestion in 2015, Monofin 1 certification from FQAS in 2011, and multiple diving certifications from PADI, including advanced diver, open water diver, and rescue diver, all obtained in 1998.

Recently, in 2020 to 2021, Yael attended Concordia University's Life Science Entrepreneurship Development Program, focusing on business and leadership in the field of study.
