Founded in Cluj-Napoca, Nucleo Ventures is an early-stage venture capital fund backing ambitious founders building globally relevant companies from Romania and Central and Eastern Europe.
The fund is structured as a public-private partnership. The North-West Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord-Vest), through the North-West Regional Programme co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, anchors the fund with €23.5M. Private capital and the management team contribute alongside, bringing the total to €34M.
We invest across health, manufacturing, energy, fintech, and defence. Sectors defined by technical depth and commercial urgency, where the right early partner makes a measurable difference.
The Nucleo team combines venture building, enterprise software, financial structuring, legal governance, AI, and go-to-market experience. Many of us have operated in the same environments our founders are navigating. We know what early looks like from the inside.
Beyond capital, portfolio companies access mentoring, commercial strategy, recruitment support, international expansion expertise, and preparation for future fundraising rounds. A dedicated €1.7M grant facility supports pre-seed validation for the earliest-stage ideas.
