Joseph Markell

Joseph Markell serves as Patent Counsel at NuCurrent since October 2021, with prior experience as an Associate/Legal Intern at Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP, where duties included reviewing invention disclosures and preparing utility applications. Joseph's background includes significant roles in patent prosecution as a Patent Engineer at Quarles & Brady LLP, where involvement spanned both utility and design patents. Earlier experience encompasses positions in quality and process engineering at Motorola Solutions and Cree, as well as being a Process Quality Lead at Grayhill and participating in research at North Carolina State University. Joseph's career began in the U.S. Army as an Airborne Combat Engineer. Educational credentials include a JD from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law and two degrees in Materials Science & Engineering from North Carolina State University.
