Fiona Johnson is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in various leadership roles. Currently serving as a Freelance Communications Consultant since March 2022 and a Visiting Fellow at Nuffield Trust since March 2016, Fiona is also the Joint Director of Communications at Nuffield Trust, collaborating with Leonora Merry. Previous positions include Director of Communications at the Royal College of Nursing from February 2011 to January 2016, Director of Communications at the General Teaching Council for England from April 2003 to January 2011, and Head of Media Relations at the British Medical Association from May 1996 to March 2003. Fiona holds a Bachelor’s Degree in modern languages, specifically German and French, from the University of Bradford, completed in 1979.
