Jack Danahy has had a diverse and extensive work experience in the cybersecurity industry. Jack is currently serving as the VP / Strategy and Innovation at NuHarbor Security since September 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of VP / Product and Engineering at the same company from July 2021 to November 2022.

In 2022, they also became the Managing Partner at Almanna Cyber, where they continue to work. Additionally, they serve as a Member of the Board of Directors at Sightline Security, a non-profit organization focused on cybersecurity education and advocacy for nonprofits.

Before their current roles, Jack was the Executive Advisor at Danahy Analytics, LLC from February 2021 to August 2021. Here, they provided guidance and expertise to founders, investors, and management teams in various aspects of their business growth.

Between January 2019 and January 2021, they served as the Senior Vice President & Chief Evangelist at Alert Logic. Jack played a crucial role in developing and leading outreach efforts, as well as promoting Alert Logic's strategy and value in the managed detection and response market.

Prior to Alert Logic, Jack was the Co-Founder & CTO of Barkly from October 2013 to December 2018. Barkly, an endpoint protection company, was acquired by Alert Logic. Jack was responsible for recruiting the initial team, securing funding, and overseeing customer acquisition. Jack also handled industry and business analyst interactions, media outreach, and market engagement.

Jack's professional journey began at IBM, where they held several key positions from 2009 to 2013. Jack served as the Director, Advanced Security and North American Security Services Delivery, leading the delivery of IBM security services and acting as the company's security evangelist. Jack also held the role of Worldwide Security Executive for IBM/Rational, driving the integration of Ounce Labs' source code security products into IBM.

Before joining IBM, Jack founded and led Ounce Labs as the Founder and CEO/CTO from 2002 to 2009. Ounce Labs was the first company to deliver a static source code security analysis solution. Jack managed all aspects of the business, raising funding, recruiting executives, and achieving significant revenue growth before the company's acquisition by IBM. Jack also played a crucial role in market outreach and establishing Ounce Labs as a recognized leader in the cybersecurity industry.

Prior to Ounce Labs, Jack served as the Senior VP Server Security at Watchguard Technologies, Inc from 2000 to 2002. Jack was responsible for advancing server and firewall security capabilities and served as the primary spokesperson for the company. Before Watchguard Technologies, they founded and led Qiave Technologies as the Founder and CEO from 1999 to 2000. Qiave Technologies specialized in system hardening and rootkit defense before being acquired by Watchguard Technologies.

Throughout their career, Jack Danahy has demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity strategy, product development, team leadership, fundraising, and market outreach. Their experience spans various roles, from executive positions to advisory roles, and includes successful company acquisitions and integrations.

Jack Danahy completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from 1982 to 1986. Jack also obtained several additional certifications, including "Dan Ariely on Making Decisions" and "Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Security Risk: Categorizing Attacks and Failure Modes" from LinkedIn in February 2022. In July 2020, they completed an "Introduction to Personal Branding" course from Coursera. Other certifications they obtained include "Introduction to Financial Accounting" in April 2019, "Getting and Cleaning Data" in January 2018, "R Programming" in November 2017, and "The Data Scientist's Toolbox" in November 2017, all from Johns Hopkins University on Coursera. Jack also holds a "Social Media Marketing Certification Course" from HubSpot Academy, which they obtained in May 2021.
