Rene Berger has held a variety of positions in the corporate world since 1997. Rene began their career as a Project Manager for Europaforum Wien in 1997. In 1999, they became a Partner and Investment Manager for March.fifteen, where they were involved in investments and exits in Sysis/3United, JoWood, sms.at/UCP, and solve. In 2003, they became the Director of Investor Relations and Communications for Austria Technologie und Systemtechnik AG, where they were responsible for Investor Relations and Public Relations. From 2007 to 2012, they were the Managing Partner of nextmarch, and in 2012 they became a Co-Founder and Shareholder of Up to Eleven Digital Solutions GmbH. In 2014, they Co-Founded Nuki Home Solutions GmbH and became a Member of the Supervisory Board, and they also became a Strategic Advisor for Inspiring Sport Capital. In 2013, they became a Member of the Board of Directors for MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team, and in 2007 they became a Member of the Supervisory Board and Shareholder for fatfoogoo.

Rene Berger completed their Baccalauréat and Matura at Lycee Francais de Vienne from 1977 to 1990. Rene then attended the University of Strasbourg from 1990 to 1995, where they obtained their Maitrise and D.E.A. in Droit Européen and Sciences Politiques from the Université Robert Schuman. From 1996 to 1999, Rene Berger attended the University of Vienna, where they earned their Mag (approval) and Dr. iur. (PhD) in Law. In 2006, they obtained an Experts Certificate in Change Management as Leadership Task from DEAK. In 2018, Rene Berger attended Harvard Law School's Program on Negotiation and Leadership, and in 2019, they completed the Negotiation Master Class.
