James Shephard

James Shephard has had a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. James co-founded and served as Chairman of NULIA since October 2017. In 2019, they became the Founder and Director of ClicHoldings Corp. James also worked as a Director at ComputeNext from May 2018. Prior to their entrepreneurship ventures, James served in multiple capacities at the University of Oregon from 2005 to 2020, including as a Courtesy Professor of Law at the Robert D. Clark Honors College and a Member of the Advisory Council. James also held the position of Director at Red Duck Foods, Inc. from December 2015 to July 2020. James was a Trustee at the University of Oregon Foundation from June 2010 to June 2019. Their career in the financial sector includes roles at AIG Europe Holdings Limited as a Director from January 2013 to December 2015, AIG Asset Management (Europe) Limited as CEO and Chairman from May 2012 to December 2015, and Banque AIG as CEO and Chairman and later as General Counsel from 1994 to 2012. James began their legal career as an Associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP from 1988 to 1993.

James Shephard attended the University of Oregon from 1976 to 1980, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in General Humanities from the Robert D. Clark Honors College. From 1980 to 1982, they pursued further education at Université de Poitiers, obtaining a Maitrise degree in Histoire. James then continued their studies at Tulane University Law School from 1983 to 1986, earning a Juris Doctor degree in Law. Additionally, in 1984 to 1985, James Shephard attended Université de Poitiers for a DEA degree in Histoire.
