Ben Cohen is a seasoned engineering and research professional specializing in machine learning and neuroscience. Currently serving as a Senior Staff Engineer and previously as a Senior Research Engineer at Numenta since May 2021, Ben has a solid foundation in research, having worked as a Machine Learning Research Scientist at the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University from November 2018 to May 2021. Ben's earlier experience includes a role as a Postbaccalaureate IRTA Fellow at the National Institutes of Health, where contributions were made to develop a spiking neural network model of perceptual rivalry. Additionally, Ben has served as a Python Instructor and Teaching Assistant at the Foundation for Advanced Education in the Sciences and was the Manager of the Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Lab at Westminster College. Ben holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience from Westminster College, earned in 2015.
