Jerrold Gray has over 35 years of experience in the engineering field. Jerrold began their career in 1983 as a Design Engineer at Data I/O. In 1993, they moved to Advanced Technology Video as a Senior Staff Engineer, where they designed 100% of their early units and was the system architect for the HW group's design of later units. In 2003, they became a Senior Design Engineer at Apollo Video Technology. In 2004, they started their own business, Gray Area Technologies, where they worked on developing IP to advance application specific array processing for very large niche markets, as well as providing contract engineering services and design work for hire in both software and hardware. In 2010, they took a Contract Engineer role at Fluke Corporation, where they worked on FPGA based hardware development funded through NIST. In 2012, they became a Senior Electrical Engineer at Teledyne Blueview, Inc. and in 2017, they took a Senior Electrical Engineer role at Numurus.

Jerrold Gray attended the University of Washington from 1974 to 1980, where they received a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE). Their field of study was Electronics, Optics, and Medical applications of lasers.
