Tim Johnson has worked in the tech industry since 2001. Tim started their career as a Systems Administrator at SanDisk Corporation, where they oversaw the transition from NT4 to Active Directory, and managed SCCM and Symantec AV using Perl and VBScript. In 2005, they worked as an NT Administrator at Zone Labs, where they wrote in-house tools to monitor event logs and programmatically migrated Exchange distribution lists to Listserv. That same year, they also worked as a Windows System Administrator at Check Point Software Technologies, Inc. From 2006 to 2021, they worked at Google as a Sr. Security Engineer, where they were awarded for detecting red team activity on corp systems disguised as a driver update. Tim also wrote log parsers in a proprietary format to generate signals for security events and created a new system based on BigQuery to extract Google Cloud log metadata. In 2021, they began working as a Senior Security Engineer at Nuna Inc.

Tim Johnson received a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Autodidact from the Universal School of Hard Knocks in 1995.
