Clay Pottorff is a seasoned engineering professional specializing in autonomous vehicle development and systems engineering. Currently serving as a Senior System Engineer for Nuro since December 2024, Clay previously held the position of Lead Systems Engineer at Faction, where responsibilities included leading the design and integration of drive-by-wire systems within safety-rated ECUs. Prior experience includes roles at Cyngn as Engineering Manager and Senior Systems Engineer, focusing on hardware development for autonomous vehicles. Clay's earlier career spans positions at Knightscope, where significant contributions included the manufacture of a new robot prototype, and as a tutor in mathematics and physics at both InstaEDU and New Mexico State University. Clay holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Engineering Physics and Physics from New Mexico State University, as well as experience studying at INSA Lyon.
