Jan Clawson is a Senior System Engineer at Nuro since April 2023, contributing to the development of autonomous delivery vehicles aimed at enhancing daily life and community engagement. Previously, Jan worked at Kodiak Robotics from July 2019 to April 2023, focusing on systems engineering tasks including requirements analysis and safety analyses in accordance with ISO26262, SOTIF, and UL4600, while utilizing Python for data analysis and interfacing with C++ code. As a Project Manager and Senior Engineer at Made in Space, Inc. from January 2014 to July 2019, Jan further developed engineering expertise. Jan began a career in academia as a Graduate Student Research Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from June 2011 to December 2013 and gained research experience as an intern at the University of Texas Center for Electromechanics in 2010. Jan holds a Master's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical/Space Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
